A global collaboration spanning eight years has concluded with the creation of the Codebook: an enormous database comprised of over 4,800 experiments that has illuminated how transcription factors influence human gene regulation.

Cancer is notoriously difficult to treat, largely because of its remarkable ability to adapt. With $9 million in renewed funding through a Terry Fox New Frontiers Program Project Grant, this Toronto-based team of researchers will tackle this challenge by uncovering how cancers adapt and resist treatment, with the goal of developing therapies that block these processes and improve long-term outcomes.

Announced earlier this week, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research has funded four projects which will take place at the Donnelly Centre over the next five years in the labs of Peter Roy, Gary Bader, Charlie Boone, and Stephane Angers.
