The Charles H. Best Postdoctoral Fellowship recognizes outstanding postdoctoral fellows at the Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research who are tackling big questions in biology through systems-thinking. The 2025 recipient of the Charles H. Best Fellowship is Jessica Lacoste.

Charles Boone, professor of molecular genetics and Banting & Best Distinguished Scholar, has been recognized for his contributions to scientific research through his election to the National Academy of Sciences. Boone was one of 24 international members elected in 2024 and was inducted into the Academy at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. earlier this month.

Brain Cancer Canada is pleased to announce a $85,000 research grant awarded to Dr. Stéphane Angers at the University of Toronto for his project, "Discovery of Druggable Vulnerabilities in Hypermutant Recurrent Glioblastoma." This innovative research initiative aims to identify new therapeutic strategies for glioblastoma (GBM), one of the most treatment-resistant forms of brain cancer.
