The Jennifer Comyn Graduate Award for Cancer Research is awarded to one graduate student enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. program at the University of Toronto who is conducting research in a lab located in the Donnelly Centre. The selection process is based on research excellence and the fit of the proposed research project to cancer research. The applicant's stage in their graduate program will be taken into account when evaluating the applications and selecting the winner.

The award was established by the Angers family as a tribute to Jennifer Comyn, a loving mom and spouse and an advocate for cancer research.

Applications will be accepted until 4 pm on Tuesday, December 9, 2025

Application Requirements

  • Completed and signed application form
  • Curriculum vitae (maximum 2 pages) detailing:   
    • Research project and interests (100 – 250 words)
    • Publications
    • Presentations
    • Awards
    • Research experience
  • Letter of recommendation from faculty supervisor (e-mailed directly to ccbr.info@utoronto.ca with applicant's name in the subject line)

​Award Conditions

There are no restrictions with respect to citizenship or year of study. Applicants must be supervised by a member of the Donnelly Centre faculty and their research program must focus on cancer research.

Support is for one academic year and non‐renewable. Previous winners are ineligible to apply.
